Memorial Day Weekend!

LOVE Memorial Day Weekend because we always do the SAME things . . . Becky and Marshall's for a weenie roast on Sunday night . . .

These two girls had a lovely dinner sitting at the picnic table with Nama . . .
The train came . . . big excitement!And since it was also a graduation party for Sarah from Gonzaga, there was an ice cream machine! I have NO IDEA how many ice cream cones my kids ate throughout the night . . . too many to count, which could explain the crazy eyes and smile Grace is sporting. The Judy girls are CLEVER and CRAFTY . . . since Sarah is a nurse they made this set-up for "patients" to get JELLO "shots". But wait . . . it gets better . . . look at the CAKE Maria made! Seriously! We ALWAYS go to the Nooksack Cemetery Monday morning.

Grace was PETRIFIED of the soldiers shooting their guns . . . it was all she could talk about for days leading up to Memorial Day. So many questions and her ultimately telling us we WERE NOT going because she was too scared. But then she woke up Monday morning and said, "There is nothing to be afraid of." Tom said she was shaking she was holding her ears so tight when they fired their guns, but not a tear.

Don't get between this boy and his BEANS!For a college paper one time, I wrote about all our crazy family traditions and my comeback line was, "I don't know why we do what we do, we just do." Really though, there is a reason behind EVERYTHING we do. So glad that we CELEBRATE Memorial Day and are teaching our kiddos to do the same, and WHY we do it. Love and prayers on Memorial Day and EVERYDAY to our service men and women and their families. THANK YOU.
