Mixing up some pancakes for breakfast . . .
SO excited about the candles!

It had been a crazy work week for Tom and he was feeling extra guilty about being gone so much, so he brought the kids home a treat . . . a slip 'n slide for our house! We tried it out when we got home from Nama's.
While Vince was taking a nap, Grace and I worked on a special cake for our buddy boy . . .
While I was making dinner, the birthday boy got a few early taste tests . . .

It was turning into a HOT day, so we headed over to Mom's for lunch and some water fun!

We thought if we filled up the baby pool with warm water, the littles would play in it and leave the bigs alone on the slip 'n slide . . . of course Nama made filling it up so much FUN that the bigs wouldn't get out!

For a birthday treat, we brought Spongebob popsicles!

Luckily, a two-year-old isn't expecting presents, so when he does open the one gift you have for him, he will be over the moon about it!

Vince my prince,
In the past month, my sweet and tender-hearted little man, you woke up and discovered you were TWO! It was as if someone walked into a room in your brain, found the switch labeled "Age: two" or "Terrible Twos" or maybe even "Agent Destroy" and flipped it to the on position. You can be naughty, but you know how to get on my good side. When you disobey, you are repentant, drooping your head, muttering "chair" and make your way to the time out chair. When I catch you in the middle of something, you will look at me with wily eyes and the biggest of grins, hoping against hope that your sweet face will woo me to forget the sins of your past and relish in the cuteness of the present.
Sometimes at night when I am snuggling you to sleep, your face has to be nested against mine, cheek to cheek, your arms wrapped around my neck, cozy and tight and I can't help but fall in love all over with my snuggly, restless boy. I love when you reach for me, kiss me, call for me and snuggle in as though you were a tiny newborn. I savor these moments, knowing that before long, you will outgrow my arms.
Grace is your absolute best friend and I LOVE watching the two of you play together. You copy her every move and follow her everywere. You dance gracefully through life's ups and downs, smiling and scheming, laughing and galloping, throwing and hitting and hugging away. You are pure joy, all boy, and the sweetest of children. Your heart bursts with love for the people in your life. You are full of smiles, hugs and kisses for those you love. You bring such joy and life to our home. You are fun and silly, smart and adventurous. You remind us each and every day the joys of being a child in the big, wide world. God has gifted you with a tender heart, a mind that seeks to figure things out, and the most joyful, light spirit imaginable. You are always keeping us on our toes, warming our hearts to the core, and making us laugh until our bellies hurt. You are such a sweet, sweet gift from God and the loviest of boys. We can't possibly think of a more perfect fit for our family.
Happy birthday, buddy boy! Life is good with you in it, we love you to the moon!
Love,
Mom
