PHENOMENAL . . . EPIC . . .

that's how Tom described their Labor Day weekend fishing up at the Fraser River. Apparently it's the biggest run of sockeye in 97 years . . . about 34 million. Tom, Carl, Grant and Taryn did their part and caught __ fish! (Tom made me take out the actual number in case someone from the Fish and Wildlife Dept. happens to be reading our family blog. Don't ask how you bring home (undisclosed number) of fish when each person has a limit of 2 fish per day. Some pretty proud fisherman, with about half their fish . . . We were in Costco and Tom saw salmon for $8.99 pound . . . so if you see us setting up a roadside stand and trying to sell fish, you'll know why.

Tom's favorite movie is "Of Mice and Men" and he loves it when we can "eat off the fat of the land" like George and Lenny . . . we've had many dinners of corn and salmon in the last few weeks and he quotes it every time. Grace asks for corn and fish for dinner EVERY night . . . she can eat almost as much fish as Tom.
