Labor Day Weekend!

Grace and Jake spent the night at Nama and Nampa's on Saturday night after our apple farm adventure, so it was just Vince and I at home (Tom was fishing/camping up at the Fraser River). It was a QUIET morning at home with just the two of us, and we were more than READY to go meet the Larson gang at the Nooksack Park at 1:00 to celebrate Grandma Larson's birthday. Vince coming up, Grace going down . . . LOTS of Larsons! Dave and Carmen even made a SURPRISE visit from Forks!
On Labor Day, we went to Sandy Point with Tom's family . . .
Vince loves Grandpa Ted . . .
Maddie snuck over and took this picture of Eileen and Aunt Karen relaxing . . .

LOTS of cousins! These are (some of) Grandma Jessie's siblings great-grandchildren . ..
That night we went on a big ADVENTURE! We drove up a long and winding gravel road off the South Pass Road and then hiked up the last little bit . . .
We ended up at this little cabin that was built in 1891 for gold miners! It was kind of hard not to pretend like we were on an episode of Little House on the Prairie.

No joke, we could see all the way to Birch Bay!
Uncle Tom teaching the kids how to whittle . . .
I might have been a little on edge thinking a b-e-a-r was going to come out of the woods any second.
The kids had their ears plugged a good majority of the time . . . some people were shooting guns somewhere.

What a way to send off summer . . . amazing!!!!
